Hampton Roads Coffin Club
Welcome to Hampton Roads Coffin Club – a place where people of nearby communities gather and open up to talk about death and dying. Death is a topic that is relevant to us all, and yet it simply isn’t pleasant to talk about. This is a topic that normally inspires fear and denial. For most people, death is all about sadness and grief. But the HR Coffin Club is here to help you find comfort in transforming sadness and grief into art, action, and progress.
Death is inevitable and probably the most unalloyed truth about life. There are many horrible stigmas that go with death, funerals, and coffins. The Hampton Roads Coffin Club aims to discuss what considered a taboo subject to many and put the things at ease. The club aims to make a difference in the concept of death and dying. Everyone thinks a lot about how to live well. We’d like to talk about increasing our chances of dying well.
It’s very apparent that many elderly members of communities around lack a human touch. Many lost their partners; they have no family or family are way away. It’s important to be touched and loved by somebody. The Hampton Roads Coffin Club helps you to find both friendship and love. This is a place where you can meet like-minded people seeking a unique way to prepare for death. You can make new friends and have an open conversation about your end-of-life plans.
The burden of sorting out death can be overwhelming but the HR Coffin Club helps to deal with it in a fun way with a cheerful approach to death. We want our club to be known for the amount of love going around not for morbidity.
Here, people design their coffins in their preferred style and plan their final send-off with friends who are also in a similar situation. The process of making the coffins is aimed at demystifying death and removing the fear and rejection of the subject as a conversation. Building your coffin means you’re going away for your last journey in something that belongs to you; what you’ve created. It’s an unusual amalgam of emotion and contentment.
Every death is the end of an extraordinary journey and we believe it should be celebrated. A funeral is an occasion of remembering the memories the person left for his or her family and friends. Death is a part of life, and so are the funerals and memorial services held to mark an individual’s passing. The HR Coffin Club aims to enable you to plan your funeral and memorial services in the way you want it to be.
